Tony is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor (FRICS) with over 26 years’ construction industry experience undertaking senior leadership roles in both commercial and project management capacities for major contractors and more recently as a consultant advising clients. His diverse project experience includes major new build and refurbishment schemes in the commercial, residential, hotel, retail, heritage, rail and aviation sectors up to £500m in value.
Over the past few years Tony has been regularly appointed by both tribunals and clients as an expert witness or advisor on matters of quantum on high value disputes. Tony also regularly undertakes written and oral advocacy roles acting as party representative on behalf of contractor and developer clients in high value and technically complex adjudications and at mediation hearings.
During his career Tony has accrued extensive expertise and knowledge in all matters relating to quantum, including the valuation of complex variations as well as producing and assessing major loss and expense, acceleration and disruption claims. He also has experience of complex insurance claims.
Historically as a direct employee his expertise and diverse skillset was often called upon to forensically investigate and assess distressed projects or major claims, reporting to and advising the main board of directors.
Tony has also taught extensively and delivered seminars on both commercial management, contract administration, procurement and project management.
He is a Fellow of the RICS and Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) and is a Chartered Builder (MCIOB) and member of the Society of Construction Law. He has a BSc(Hons) in Quantity Surveying, a MSc in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution and has successfully completed the RICS accredited Advanced Expert Witness training (APAEWE) as well as being a Member of the Academy of Experts (MAE).
